I have a business trip in 2 weeks that I'm looking forward to for the same reason. I know I'm going to worry about the kids while I'm gone but I will have a long weekend of adult conversation. In fact...because the meeting is on the other side of the country, I have to fly in the night before. Meetings don't start till early evening on Friday, which gives me all. day. Friday to sleep in, watch tv, write, go for a swim in the hotel pool, etc. :-D
Good luck selling your house/renting a new one. I'm sorry the deal fell through :-( Hopefully a new buyer will come along soon!

MarfMomhttp://marfmom.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2959253662881047710.post-90676750697587454162011-10-14T15:42:37.000-05:002011-10-14T15:42:37.000-05:00Your jumping at the chance to get away rang true w...Your jumping at the chance to get away rang true with me. There is something good and refreshing about being "somewhere else"for a while, even if we are needed and may be working just as hard. My mom passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, followed shortly by her mother's death, followed now by my brother being in the ICU and another brother facing cancer surgery. So many tears! But even with all this overwhelming stuff, it is STILL good to be away from my usual SN-mom role, to be needed somewhere else, to be able to see things at home in a better perspective. This is one of the only times I can put my dear daughter a little further down the list of priorities and feel OK about it.

Kate Jnoreply@blogger.com
